The Cumberland County Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire around 6:50am Saturday at the entrance of Green Acres Cemetery. It appears a truck caught fire while traveling on Highway 127 North and the driver managed to pull safely into the cemetery before the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames. It’s believed that no one in the truck was injured. Firefighters contained the blaze to the immediate area. No graves were disturbed and there was very minor damage to the parking lot. Firefighters carefully and respectfully cleaned the area of debris and soot, leaving the cemetery the same as it was before the incident except for a little scorched grass near the edge of the driveway.
