Morgan County Prison Food Steward Busted For Contraband

The Tennessee Department of Correction reports that vigilant staff at the Morgan County Correctional Complex stopped an attempt to introduce contraband into the facility in late January. According to the TDOC Facebook page, Merenda Sue Jones, a Food Steward, was observed on camera dropping a package off within the secure confines of the facility. Upon further investigation, the package was found to contain 3.03 oz. of a substance that field-tested positive for marijuana. Morgan County Sheriff’s Department was notified and Joens was arrested; she was charged with felony introduction of contraband into a penal facility.
