The Meigs County Grand Jury has indicted 45-year-old Chad Mitchell Lankford on one count of First Degree Murder in the July (2025) shooting death of 46-year-old Jason Paul Burnette at a residence in Decatur, Tennessee. On Tuesday (November 25, 2025) Lankford was arrested and booked into the Meigs County Jail on a $1 million bond.
