Morning Crash On I-40 In Putnam County Shuts Down Both East And West Lanes For Hours

A crash on I-40 West in Putnam County shut down both the east and westbound lanes for hours Thursday.  The THP says the wreck involved three commercial vehicles and was reported shortly before 7am at the westbound 299 mile marker.  There were injuries but authorities did not immediately release the victims’ names or their conditions.  Both the east and west sides were closed and traffic was diverted.
