A Hamilton County Criminal Court judge has sentenced Janet Hinds to 11 years in prison for the fatal hit and run death of a Chattanooga Police Officer. In 2019, Hinds was charged with Vehicular Homicide by Intoxication in the death of Officer Nicholas Galinger. Her son told the court that he believes his mother thought she had hit a road sign on that fatal rainy night and did not know that she had actually hit a person. Hinds will reportedly be eligible for parole after serving 30 percent of her sentence.
