The bond has increased to a half million dollars for a woman indicted in last year’s fatal shooting at Soaky Mountain Water Park. On July 31, 2022, Sarah Romine, 31, of Knoxville, allegedly shot 24-year-old Kelsy Cook and 23-year-old Angie Russell during an incident in the Waterpark’s parking lot. Cook died from her injuries. Russell’s injuries were non-life-threatening. Authorities said Romine was arrested shortly after the shooting along with Joshua Dannels, of Crossville. Dannels was reportedly charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated and later released on a $2,500 bond. Romine’s bond was originally set at $350,000. Romine was indicted on first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault and five counts of reckless endangerment. On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, Romine appeared before a judge who granted the DA’s motion to increase her bond by an additional $150,000. Romine is incarcerated at the Sevier County Jail and her next court appearance is scheduled for April 26, 2022. (Photo courtesty Sevierville Police)
