Officials are investigating Thursday’s explosion at a manufacturing plant near the Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge Airport. It happened at Johnson Matthey Catalysts and there were no injuries. Sevierville Fire Chief Matt Henderson Company said workers had to use chemical extinguishers because the chemicals involved in the explosion react to water. The cause of the blast was not immediately identified by officials. The Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration (TOSHA) will follow up with the company to determine if will conduct an on-site inspection
