The Tennessee Department of Education announced over $800,000 in grant funding has been awarded to 34 districts for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education, middle school career and technical education (CTE), and high school school-based enterprise projects.
Cumberland County will receive a $10,000 Middle School STEM Start-up And Expansion Grant.
Fentress County will get a $10,000 Middle School STEM Start-up And Expansion Grant, and a $10,000 Middle School CTE Start-Up And Expansion Grant.
In Putnam County, Algood Middle School has been funded $4,500 and Avery Trace Middle School will recieve $10,000 in Middle School STEM Start-up And Expansion Grants.
Bledsoe County Schools will get a little over $13,000 from the High School School-Based Enterprise Start-Up Grant.
Overton County Schools will receive just under $50,000 in Middle School STEM Start-up And Expansion Grants. Livingston Academy will also get more than $9,300 from the High School School-Based Enterprise Start-Up Grant.
Funding is provided through Governor Lee’s Future Workforce Initiative, which boosts access to CTE, STEM, and Work-Based Learning (WBL) in the classroom.
