Scammer Tries To Sell Lots In Crossville

The Crossville Police Department reports that someone is trying to sell three lots of property in Crossville that they do not own.  The lots are owned by a man in California who inherited them from his father.  The victim’s wife told police she became aware of the attempted transaction when a friend notified her that the property had been placed for sale online by someone in Kingston, Tennessee.  Police spoke with the listing agent who said they were contacted by someone claiming to the deceased father.  The agent gave police all the contact information of the person trying to sell the property, which includes three lots, with an asking price of $37,500 each.
