At least 11 Tennessee Tech students in Cookeville have been displaced after lightning sparked an early morning apartment fire. The Cookeville Fire Department responded around 5:30am Friday to a blaze at Eagle Summit on the corner of 8th Street and N. Willow Avenue. It took about two hours to get the blaze under control. A total of 12 residents were impacted. There were no reports of injuries. Jonathan Frank, the News and Public Relations Director for the university, said Tennessee Tech is providing support for counseling, temporary housing, care packages, essential supplies and other accommodations for final exams.
