One person is dead and three have been arrested after seven people were shot in two different neighborhoods in Columbia, Tennessee. The shootings occurred in less than a week and all three suspects and six of the seven victims are teenagers.
In the first shooting, Thomas Jack Keiser, age 19, was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at Maury Regional Medical Center. Another 19-year-old man was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries. Three others were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Two 19-year-olds have been arrested charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
In the second shooting, a 14-year-old girl and a 23-year-old woman were both shot. The girl sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was critically injured and was still at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on June 1. A 15-year-old boy has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.
Officials said there is no apparent connection between the two shooting incidents.
