The Trousdale Turner Correctional Center in Hartsville, Tennessee was put on lockdown over the weekend following the death of an inmate and an unrelated attack on two correctional officers. WKRN reports an inmate was found unresponsive in their cell shortly before 5am Saturday, June 10, 2023. The inmate was taken to the hospital and pronounced deceased. In a separate incident two correctional officers were assaulted by two inmates during the morning meal process. Staff members responded to stop the attack and provide first aid. The injured officers were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. The inmates involved in the attack have been been transferred to a different Tennessee Department of Correction facility.
