There was only one survivor of a murder-suicide that left six people dead last week in Marion County. According to News Channel 9, Aaron Pursley’s aunt said he was shot three times and managed to escape to a neighbor’s house. Authorities believe Gary Don Barnett shot and killed his estranged wife Regina Barnett, her adult daughter Britney Perez, and Pursley in a domestic dispute. It’s believed that Barnett took his own life. Marion County Deputies and Jasper Police responded to a shooting call last Thursday night and discovered the home on fire. Once the blaze was out, the bodies of three adults and three children were discovered. Regina Barnett had reportedly gotten a restraining order against her estranged husband Gary about a month before she was killed. The case is still under investigation.
