On its Facebook page, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has issued an alert that someone is spoofing the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office number and using the name of an actual employee of the office. This individual will state that you missed jury duty and now have an active arrest warrant unless you pay them money.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office will never contact you by phone asking you for money. That goes for any other Sheriff’s Office. If you have been a victim of this scam in Putnam County please report it to dispatch at 931-528-8484.
