Dump Truck Driver Killed After Going Off Side Of Mountain In Bledsoe County

The Crossville Fire Department responded mutual aid Tuesday morning after a dump truck went over the side of a mountain in Bledsoe County.  The THP says 30-year-old Ethan Walls of Tennessee was killed.  Mr. Walls was reportedly going east on Lee Station Mountain Road when he ran off the roadway, struck an unoccupied vehicle parked in a driveway and went over a cliff.  The Dunlap Fire Department also received a mutual aid request around 10am from the Pikeville Volunteer Fire Department for a rope rescue team. Other departments sending crews were Piney Volunteer Fire Department, Signal Mountain Fire Department, and Crossville Fire Department.  The Dunlap Fire Department says rescue teams had to set up a haul system to reach, extricate and remove the victim back up to the roadway.  The extrication was lengthy and difficult as crews dealt with the steep terrain and the heat.  It’s not clear why the driver went off the road. No other injuries were reported.  The Overton/Pickett County E-911 reported on Facebook that a gofundme account had been set up for Ethan Wall’s family under the account name “Walls family”.
