House Speaker Cameron Sexton, Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster, Crossville Mayor RJ Crawford along with many others attended Monday’s (7/24/2023) groundbreaking for a new hangar at the Crossville Memorial Airport to be leased by Whisper Aero, an aviation tech startup headquartered in Crossville, Tennessee. Whisper Aero develops electric aircraft propulsion systems. Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster noted on his Facebook page that the new hangar is funded in part by a $1.2 million grant from the state. Whisper Aero will lease the hangar for its Flight Test Center. On his Facebook page, Speaker Cameron Sexton said, “This innovated and new business is bringing new jobs, technologies and opportunities for Cumberland County.
