Michael Cummins, the 30-year-old man accused of killing 8 people in Sumner County in late April 2019, has received 8 life sentences without parole on eight charges of first-degree murder. Cummins pleaded guilty in Sumner County Wednesday morning.  Those brutally murdered include Cummins’ parents, grandfather, and uncle.  He tried to kill his grandmother but she survived and recovered. The grandmother has since passed away.  Cummins also killed his uncle’s girlfriend, her 12-year-old daughter and the girlfriend’s mother.  Authorities say Cummins also killed his 67-year-old neighbor and stole her car.  Cummins is also accused of killing another man just days before committing one of the worst mass murders in Tennessee.  The state had been seeking the death penalty.
