TWRA Officers Catch Alligator In Rhea County Tuesday!

By Peg Broadcasting News Sep 12, 2023 | 2:25 PM

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reported Tuesday that officers captured an alligator in the Whites Creek area of Rhea County. Wildlife Officers Hunter Poore and Colt Elrod were able to trap the 4-foot alligator and transport it to the Chattanooga Zoo. East Tennessee is not a natural habitat for gators and the TWRA is asking the public not to dump them or other unwanted pets.

On a side note, TWRA reminds everyone to support the Vols this Saturday (9/16) as they travel to Gainesville to face the Gators…in Florida…where gators belong!  Catch the pregame at 4pm Central, kickoff is set for 6pm on Your Home for the Vols, 102.5 WOW Country. (Photos courtesy TWRA Facebook page)
