TN Speaker Sexton Announces Over $357,000 In Safety Grants For Cumberland And Putnam Counties

Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton (R-Crossville) has announced over $357,000 in Highway Safety Grant funding for agencies in Cumberland and Putnam Counties.

These funds will promote safety on local roadways, curb instances of drunk driving, and improve safety coordination efforts between agencies across the Upper Cumberland region.

Awards and recipients include:

  • Crossville Police Department – $26,930 for Community-Based Traffic Safety Enforcement and Education.
  • Cumberland Co. Sheriff’s Department – $55,000 for Enforcement of DUI laws.
  • Fairfield Glade Police Department – $30,000 for a Senior Driver Safety Campaign.
  • Fairfield Glade Police Department – $20,000 for a Network Coordinator.
  • Monterey Police Department – $15,000 for Community-Based Traffic Safety Enforcement and Education.
  • Tennessee District Attorney General, 13th Judicial District – $210,592 for DUI Prosecution.

Speaker Sexton said, “I appreciate the Tennessee Highway Safety Office, our Department of Safety and Homeland Security, and our local agencies for their effective, committed partnership in securing these sizeable grants.”

Over 370 federal grants exceeding $28 million in total have been awarded to law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners across Tennessee.
