Cumberland County Rescue Squad Responds Mutual Aid To Injured Hiker At Frozen Head State Park In Morgan County

The Cumberland County Rescue Squad was requested Saturday around 3:30pm by Morgan County Rescue Squad for a Mutual Aid call at Frozen Head State Park.  According to a press release issued by 1st Lieutenant Dustin Burgess of the Cumberland County Rescue Squad, a trail runner had gotten injured deep in the woods and was unable to continue on their own. Rescue Squad members from multiple agencies in Tennessee responded to the state park to retrieve the injured hiker. The victim was removed from the woods and placed in EMS care around 12:15am Sunday.

Agencies on call for the almost 9 hour rescue included but are not limited to: The Morgan County Rescue, Morgan County EMS, Oliver Springs Fire Department, Cumberland County Rescue Squad, Cumberland County Fire Department, Appalachian Mountain Rescue, Knox County Rescue Squad, State Park rangers  and several other agencies unlisted.

The Cumberland County Rescue Squad thanks everyone who provided helped and commends the amazing work from all agencies and members.
