On his Facebook page, White County Sheriff Steve Page has announced that the White County Jail has once again passed its initial inspection. This makes four years in a row that the White County Jail has passed the initial inspection with no deficiencies found, which means no re-inspection was needed.
Each year the Tennessee Corrections Institute is tasked with inspecting all 95 county jails in Tennessee. Each facility has an initial inspection. If they fail that inspection, a reinspection will occur within 60 days. If the facility still fails to meet the State Minimum Standards that facility becomes decertified.
Sheriff Page says the four consecutive years of no re-inspections at the jail is a testament to the dedication and hard work put in by staff every day. Sheriff Page thanks all the jail staff for obtaining the certification on first inspection and says this will continue to be the standard held in White County through dedication, hard work and teamwork.
