Police in Sequatchie County have released the name of the man suspected of fatally shooting his wife on Tuesday (10/3/2023). The Sheriff’s Department says Keith Kopecky called 911 and told dispatch that he had shot his wife Marcey in their home on Windridge Drive, which is about 2 miles north of Dunlap off Smith Mountain Road. Kopecky reportedly was on the front steps when officers arrived at the house. Marcey Ervin, age 64, was found face down on the kitchen floor with a gunshot wound to her back and chest. Authorities found .38 caliber shell on the floor and a .38 caliber handgun near the kitchen. Keith Edward Kopecky, age 63, was arrested for Criminal Homicide.
