Tuesday morning (10/17/23) Scott County Sheriff Brian Keeton announced the arrest and charges against a short time employee and now former correctional officer, Jessica Adkins, age 34, of Helenwood, by the SCSO Drug Agents and the Jail Administrator.
According to a press release an investigation revealed that Adkins could allegedly be involved in unlawful activities. On Monday night an internal operation led to the arrest and charges of Adkins for the following: Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility, Possession of Schedule 3 Drugs, Simple Possession for Casual Exchange and Official Misconduct. She will be held on a $10,000 bond.
Sheriff Brian Keeton said, “Adkins’ conduct is disgraceful and we will operate with zero tolerance against her alleged actions or anyone else who chooses this path. She went from employee to inmate in a matter of minutes.” (Photo courtesy Scott County Sheriff’s Office)
