Deputy Fire Chief Terry Potter has received a Certificate of Recognition from Crossville Mayor RJ Crawford and the Crossville Police Department. Detective Tim Vandever recommended the recognition after Potter assisted in the arrest of a suspect in the arson of property on Methodist Campground Loop. The fire department had responded to at least two fires in the area of 127 North on August 1st, 2023 and later to structures at the Cumberland School location where a bathhouse, a library building and a pavilion were found to be on fire. The bathhouse and library were extinguished, however the pavilion was a total loss. Potter was able to locate the suspect behind East Tennessee Dodge who was later charged in the fires.
