Peck Hall at Middle Tennessee State University was closed Wednesday and classes were canceled after a contract worker apparently committed suicide. According to a press release issued by MTSU President Sidney McPhee, the victim entered Peck Hall around 3am and was alone in the building until discovered around 7:20am. McPhee said there was no threat to the campus and activities will resume as scheduled on Thursday, November 2, 2023. The victim’s name was not immediately released. The Murfreesboro Police Department said the investigation is ongoing.
