Another Driver Has Crashed Into a Westel School Bus, Second Time in Less Than a Week

For the second time in less than a week, a school bus in Westel has been hit by another driver.  It happened around 4:20pm Monday (11/13/2023). According to the THP, 24-year-old Jodi M. Jenkins was traveling East on I-40 in a 2015 Hyundai Accent and exited at the 338 off-ramp.  Jenkins failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into a school bus that was traveling south on Westel Road.  There were no students on the bus at the time of the crash. The driver of the school bus was injured and was transported to the hospital by personal vehicle.  According to reports, Jenkins fled the scene but was quickly apprehended by Troopers at a local convenience store.  Jenkins has been charged with DUI, Implied Consent, Theft of Property, 2 counts Simple Possession, Failure to Exercise Due Care, Failure to Render Aid, Leaving the Scene of an Injury Crash, Reckless Endangerment and Driving on a Suspended License.
