On Tuesday (11/28/2023), Tennessee Governor Bill Lee presented the Education Freedom Scholarship Act of 2024, his administration’s plan to expand school vouchers statewide.
Tennessee residents entitled to attend K-12 at a public school, including homeschoolers enrolled in umbrella or church-related schools, will be eligible for the program.
If passed by the legislature, the proposal would give an estimated $7,000 to 20,000 students across the state to attend private school.
The General Assembly will reconvene on January 9, 2024.
