Sarah Romine Pleads Guilty in Fatal 2021 Shooting at Soaky Mountain Water Park

Sarah Romine has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and aggravated assault in the 2021 shooting at Soaky Mountain Waterpark that claimed the life of 24-year-old Kesley Cook and injured Angie Russell, who was 23 at the time. WVLT reports that Romine “was sentenced to 16 years in prison with no parole for second-degree murder and four years in prison with 30% parole eligibility for aggravated assault. The sentences will be served consecutively.”

Joshua Dannels, of Crossville, who was reportedly in a vehicle with Romine after the shooting, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated. He was later released on a $2,500 bond.
