An alleged intruder at Glenn Martin Elementary was arrested after he reportedly fled from a School Resource Officer. According to reports from the Crossville Police Department, around 11am Thursday (1/11/2024) a male wearing all black and carrying a black backpack entered the school through the gym’s back door. He was confronted by two school employees and reportedly told them he was looking for his child and wanted to know where the family resources bathroom was. He was escorted to the front office and told to take a seat. As staff alerted the SRO on the situation, the male saw the officer and hurriedly exited the school and went to his parked car. The SRO followed and commanded him to come back. The report states the male ignored the command and got into the driver’s seat of a Honda Fit. The SRO, fearing the suspect was grabbing a weapon, drew his weapon and aimed it at the suspect through the driver’s side window, while ordering the male to stop. The suspect reportedly ignored all commands and as the SRO attempted to break the driver’s side window with his weapon, the male sped away. The SRO alerted dispatch and the male was apprehended by Crossville Police near the bowling alley on Highway 70 East. A search revealed no weapons. He was identified as 26-year-old Tyler Royce Wolfe of Fairfield Glade. Wolfe was transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center. He has been charged with Aggravated Trespass and Felony Evading Arrest. Police are still investigating why Wolfe was at the school.
