Residents in Rockwood are looking forward to the re-opening of the Dollar General store near the railroad tracks at the corner of West Wheeler Street and Gateway. The store has been closed since last August after a delivery truck ran into the building. On Saturday workers were removing old shelving, cardboard boxes and debris in addition to making room for some big changes to the store. When it re-opens, it will reportedly be a Dollar General Market, providing a much needed and improved shopping experience for those in the downtown area. The store is expected to re-open before the end of February.
