After not meeting in February, the Cumberland Plateau Water Authority met for their March session on Monday. Chairman Greg Hanson gave an update on a recent meeting with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. According to Hanson, several options were discussed regarding the securing of an additional water supply for the region, including taking water from Daddy’s Creek as well as a pipeline from the Emory River in Harriman or Watts Bar. Hanson said that options on Clear Creek were also discussed, but felt that possibility was remote. The authority is also moving forward with seeking candidates for a general manager. The next meeting is scheduled for April 1st at 6 pm in Cumberland Medical Center conference rooms A and B.
