Body of Missing Mountain Biker Found Monday on Waldens Ridge

The Signal Mountain Fire Department was dispatched on a Mutual Aid call at 3:45pm Monday to assist Waldens Ridge Emergency Service with a search for a missing mountain biker near Edward’s Point.  The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office reported the rescue had sadly become a recovery mission of the deceased bicyclist’s body.  The cause of the incident is under investigation.  The biker’s name was not immediately released.

In other news from Signal Mountain, the name of the missing hiker whose body was recovered Easter Sunday has been released.  She has been identified as 26-year-old Katelyn Krastev from Libertyville, Illinois. She was reportedly in the area visiting family with her husband. Authorities have not said how she fell off Signal Point.
