A Tennessee State University football player sacrificed his own life to save his girlfriend from being mowed down by a speeding car in East Nashville.  Chazan Page was walking across Gallatin Pike with his girlfriend and some other friends early Sunday morning when a red vehicle came speeding toward  them.  Chazan pushed his girlfriend out of the way and took the full impact. The vehicle fled the scene. Page was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center where the 20-year old died.

“Chazan Page will be deeply missed by our Big Blue Family, as he was a phenomenal young man and leader who made everyone around him better,” TSU Director of Athletics Dr. Mikki Allen posted on X.

Page’s family requests for any donations to go to the TSU football team.

As of Monday night, police were still looking for the hit-and-run driver.
