Tuesday evening at approximately 7 pm Crossville Fire & Rescue responded to a residential structure fire at 327 Spiers Way. Fire crews encountered heavy fire conditions on arrival and made an aggressive fire attack. The occupant of the structure safely escaped the fire but regretfully one pet was lost in the blaze. Spiers Way was shut down for several hours while crews worked to extinguish the fire. The Crossville Police Department, Crossville/Cumberland County Emergency Management Agency, and Cumberland County EMS assisted in the fire. Cumberland County Fire/Rescue was on standby to assist while Crossville Fire & Rescue crews battled the blaze. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
