Authorities are not saying much at this time regarding the death of a woman in the Pleasant Hill area. Per TDOT Smartway, there was police activity this morning (Wed., May 8, 2024) in the vicinity of US-70/Sparta Highway and Old State Highway 1, which intersects with Red Road.
Peg Broadcasting reached out to the TBI who released the following statement at 2:17 this afternoon:
“At the request of 13th Judicial District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway, TBI Special Agents are working with the White County Sheriff’s Office and the DAG’s office in investigating a homicide in White County, after a female’s body was found in a vehicle on Red Road in Sparta. The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time.”
Officials have not released the victim’s name or any other details surrounding her death.
