Eaves was found to have used his work vehicle for commercial food delivery and rideshare services during school hours on 933 occasions, totaling over 23,000 minutes and $18,000 in misappropriated payments. He began this activity on his first day of employment in 2017, admitted to the misuse of the vehicle, and made questionable fuel purchases totaling $1,475.91. Eaves was suspended in 2022 and retired early. The Hamilton County Grand Jury indicted him on multiple charges including theft, forgery, and misconduct. The Comptroller emphasized the need for better oversight and monitoring of employees and fuel card usage within the school district.
