UPDATE FOR SEARCH ON MAY 21ST:
Unless you are first responders, all civilian personnel, including individuals bringing side by sides or horses with trailers, will need to park at either Bondecroft Elementary or Bondecroft Baptist Church. There will be personnel assisting with parking and there will be a shuttle to transport to the search location. Anyone planning to park at the school will need to leave a lane of travel open for construction crews. You must have ID and some form of communication with you.

White County Sheriff Steve Page is holding a community search for Roy Whited on Tuesday, May 21st beginning at 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Anyone wanting to assist the Sheriff and the White Co Sheriff’s search team with the search needs to be at the command post on Love Joy Road (toward the end of the road) by 8:00 a.m. this Tuesday. Everyone will need to wear proper attire and bring insect repellant. The property is very woody and snakey. After this date, only proper authorities will be permitted on the property as it is private property.

Mr. Whited, who was a state-winning championship basketball coach at White County High School from 1993 to 2001, was last seen on Friday, May 3, 2024 near Lovejoy Road in Sparta. He was wearing a beige shirt and cowboy boots.   Mr. Whited is a 64-year-old white male, 5’11” tall, 175 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.   If you see Roy Whited or have any information regarding his whereabouts call the White County Sheriff’s Office at 931-738-7111 or 1-800-TBI-FIND.
