The search for a missing Cumberland County man has ended in tragedy. The body of 57-year-old Wade Davis was found on Friday, May 31, 2024. According to the National Park Service, Mr. Davis disappeared Monday evening (5/27/2024) while wading in Daddy’s Creek, near the Devil’s Breakfast Table bridge in Morgan County. Rescue crews immediately began a search for Mr. Davis but it was put on hold due to hazardous water conditions. The search resumed Friday when water levels receded.
The National Park Service along with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Morgan County Sheriffs Office, Morgan County Rescue Squad, Cumberland County Sheriffs Office, Cumberland County Rescue Squad, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol assisted in the search.
