On Monday, July 15, 2024 the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) will join Tennessee Highway Patrol, White Pine Police Department and the Sheriff’s Offices of Anderson, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, and Sevier counties to kick off “Operation Southern Slow Down,” a multi-state mobilization to crack down on speeding from July 15 to July 19, 2024.
The purpose of this eighth annual traffic safety campaign is to increase speed enforcement on major highways and high-risk locations during a travel period when the rate of fatal crashes is highest throughout the Southeast.
Along with Tennessee…Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina will also participate in “Operation Southern Slow Down” July 15 to July 19, 2024.
