A Mount Juliet man was arrested and his mother cited during a custody exchange in the parking lot of the Crossville Buc-ees.  Police were called to the location shortly after 4pm Friday.

According to reports, the child’s father, 28-year-old Alexander P. Vasquez,  pointed a loaded handgun with a round in the chamber at the left ear of the child’s maternal grandmother while threatening to blow her brains out, and then injuring the grandmother’s leg by pushing a car door closed on it.

Vasquez was arrested for Aggravated Assault and police seized his gun along with rounds and magazine as evidence.

The man’s mother, Miosotis Sanbourin, was reportedly cited for Simple Assault due to grabbing the victim and not allowing her to get out of her car.  Sanbourin was also reportedly captured on video telling the child’s mother “if you call the cops you are (expletive) dead”.  A firearm was also removed from Sanbourin’s person.

The man claims the grandmother slapped him and he was fearful for his safety. His mother said she was defending her son.

The maternal grandmother was taken to the Cumberland Medical Center Emergency Room by EMS.
