Human Remains Found Near Railroad Tracks in Coffee County

Human remains have been found near railroad tracks in Coffee County.  According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Department, on Sunday (August 25, 2024) at 1:45pm Coffee County deputies responded to the area of Vaughn Speckleton Road.  Human remains were located by a subject checking their deer cameras. Coffee County Sheriff’s Investigators along with Manchester Police Department Investigators and Coffee County EMS Director Michael Bonner processed the scene and the area around the remains. The remains were then transported by Coffee County EMS for pick up by the State Medical Examiner’s Office. Currently this is not being investigated as a homicide but a possible Natural Caused Death. The State Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating to identify the person. When this identification is completed the Sheriff’s Office and Manchester Police Department will follow up with more information.
