According to the Crossville Police Department, City Units were dispatched to Sparta Hwy on September 1st at around 9:11 AM to a report of a stolen car. Officers made contact with the victim, who stated that he was working around his vehicle in his garage the night before on August 31st at 10:30 PM. At 8:30 AM the next morning is when the owner said the vehicle was missing. The owner said the vehicle is a 2010 Blue Ford F-150 with dents on the front bumper and a red bed cap bearing a Kentucky Tag.
Over an hour later at approximately 10:40 AM a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Deputy, was at a Sligo Street residence in Crossville for a unrelated matter when the stolen truck in question pulled into the driveway at the residence. The Deputy identified the driver as William Whited. Whited was arrested and charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Driving Under the Influence. The CCSO Deputy made contact with the CPD Patrolman, who then notified the victim about his truck being found. The Victim was able to recover his truck from the scene.
