NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Senator Paul Bailey (R-Sparta) and House Speaker Cameron Sexton (R-Crossville) today announced that the City of Crossville will receive a $392,000 grant from the Recreation Trails Program (RTP) from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC).  The funds will be used to make various improvements at Meadow Park including a new trailhead facility and ADA compliant parking lot.

“Meadow Park is a beautiful attraction for residents and tourists and offers great ways for visitors to stay active and enjoy nature in our area,” said Bailey. “I am very pleased TDEC is making this significant investment to create new facilities and ensure the park is accessible to more people.  Congratulations to the local officials who worked to secure these funds.”

The RTP program provides federal funding to match local government investments for land acquisition for trails, non-routine trail maintenance, trail construction, trail rehabilitation, and trail head support facilities.

“This grant is part of our ongoing commitment to enhance recreational opportunities and improve accessibility to natural attractions across Tennessee,” said Sexton. “I look forward to seeing how these improvements will enrich the community and attract even more visitors to Crossville.”
