A 26-year-old male driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was reportedly not hurt after flipping his pickup truck Friday morning (9/27/24) in Cumberland County. It happened around 6am at the intersection of Highway 127 North and Virgil Smith Road, tying up traffic in the area of Green Acres Cemetery for about 2 hours.
It’s not clear how the driver lost control of his truck but it should be noted that it was dark and raining at the time and that section of roadway is especially hazardous due to the 127 road construction project.
According to the THP, a 2016 Chevy Silverado was traveling on US 127 close to the intersection of Lawson Road, going south. It ran off the right side of the road and struck the end of a guardrail. It overturned and rolled over. It came to a final rest on its right side in the middle of US 127, facing northwest. No charges are pending. (Photos submitted)
