Tourism in Cumberland County Generated $210,616,400 in Visitor Spending in 2024, Statewide Report Shows Tourism in Tennessee is Breaking Records

Visitors to Cumberland County generated $210,616,400 in spending in 2023, a 5.04% increase from 2022, according to newly released data from Tourism Economics and the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.

“Tourism is an important part of our economy here in Cumberland County. It is our second largest industry behind agriculture and is a vital part of our community’s economic success. The record $210.6 million in visitor spending is a testament to Cumberland County’s unique attractions and welcoming spirit”, said Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster.

  • Household Tax Savings: Without tourism-driven tax contributions, each household in Cumberland County would pay an additional $775 in state and local taxes.
  • Job Support: Tourism directly supported 1,160 jobs in Cumberland County.
  • County Ranking: Cumberland County ranked 15th among the 95 counties in Tennessee for visitor spending.
