A one-year-old dog rescued from a salvage yard in Florida has joined the staff of Crab Orchard Elementary. Following his training with the Brevard County Sheriff’s “Paws and Stripes College” and subsequent AKC registration, “Pawfficer” Copper is now a therapy dog. Copper and School Resource Officer VonAchen, an AKC certified handler, are ready to bring joy and comfort to the students at Crab Orchard. Families can opt-out of Copper’s services, however, those who take advantage of this resilient therapy dog will find he is a source of unconditional love, support and a role model for second chances.
