By Paxton Elmore Nov 3, 2024 | 9:45 AM

It was another boarder battle Saturday night in Knoxville as the #7 Tennessee Volunteers hosted the Kentucky Wildcats. The Vols activated Dark Mode Saturday night wearing their black uniforms for a fourth straight season. The Vols trailed at halftime for a third straight week, however that wouldn’t bother UT making another comeback victory outscoring the Cats 28-18.

Freshman phenom Nico Iamaleava threw for 292 yards with 1 touchdown pass with Tight End Miles Kitselman on the receiving end of that touchdown. Kitselman was also the leading receiver Saturday night with 6 receptions for 97 yards. Dylan Sampson has made it into Tennessee history. The star running back broke the record for single season rushing touchdowns with 19, a record previously held by Gene McEver who set the record in 1929. Sampson had 2 touchdown’s on his way to break the 95 year old record. He also rushed for 142 yards.

#7 Tennessee improves to 7-1 on the year and are 4-1 in SEC play. Next up for the Vols is homecoming as Tennessee welcomes the Bulldogs from Mississippi State to Rocky Top. Coverage between #7 Tennessee and Mississippi State can be heard on 102.5 WOW Country on Saturday November 9th.
