A late night motel fire in Monteagle, Tennessee has displaced over 3 dozen residents.
The blaze broke out around 10pm Thursday at the Monteagle Inn and the structure sustained extensive damage. Many residents say they lost all their belongings. Fortunately no injuries were reported.
In a Facebook post the Town of Monteagle thanked Tennessee State Troopers, Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, Tracy City Fire Department, Sewanee Fire Department and Monteagle Fire Department and Police Department for their dedicated assistance. They also thanked the staff at Waffle House, which is next to the motel, for their support during this major event.
The TBI is investigating the cause of the fire.
