Shots Fired as Putnam County Deputies Respond to Trespassing Call, Suspect Detained

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Friday, December 6, 2024 just before 1pm, Deputies responded to a trespassing call that led to a disturbance, including shots fired, at 3475 Buffalo Valley Road.

Deputy Kayla Jacobs was reportedly speaking to one of the involved parties about their reason for calling. During the conversation the second party, who was located inside the residence, fired what appeared to be a gunshot in their direction. Deputy Kayla Jacobs got the victims out of harms way and the individual who fired the gunshot was detained and taken into custody.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said there were no injuries involved, including no injuries to Deputy Kayla Jacobs.
