It was a road trip to west Tennessee for the Lady Vols as they took on the Memphis Tigers at the FedEx Forum. The Tigers held tight to the Lady Vols staying with in striking distance but after a 3rd quarter push Tennessee was able to defeat the team from the west 90-75.
Six different Lady Vols scored in double digits with Lazaria Spearman and Jewel Spear leading the way with 18 points a piece. Talaysia Cooper, Samara Spencer, and Tess Darby all had 12 points a piece, while Ruby Whitehorn rounded out the leading scorers with 10 points. Memphis’ leading scorer was Ti’lan Boler with 23 points while DeeDee Hagemann scored 19 points in her Memphis debut.
The Lady Vols now head to the Sunshine state to take part in the West Palm Beach Classic. Tennessee will start their run on Friday taking on Richmond at 1:15 PM then they wrap up against Tulsa Saturday morning at 10:00 AM.
